The German vocational training program lasts an average of two to three years. During this training period, participants acquire both in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical experience in their chosen career field. They also receive a monthly training salary of 800€ -1300€.

Upon completion of the training, graduates receive a recognized diploma valid throughout Europe. The program opens up a wide range of career opportunities in over 50 different fields – from nursing and engineering to logistics and IT.

It is therefore an ideal option for young people who are looking for a quick, reliable and practical start to their professional career in Germany.

WHAT IS AUSBILDUNG?

  • It is a vocational education system.
  • When learning a profession, individuals study theory at school and gain practical experience at work.
  • This system is called “Duale Ausbildung” (dual education).

Features of Ausbildung

  • Duration: Usually lasts between 2 and 3.5 years (varies depending on the profession).
  • 1st year of training: 980 €

  • 2nd year of training: 1,100 €

  • 3rd year of training: 1,300 €

  • Berufsschule (Vocational school): Theoretical lessons several days a week.
  • Betrieb (Workplace): Practical work for the rest of the week.
  • Maaş (Training allowance): Students receive a monthly salary. It is low in the early years and increases in the later years.
  • Upon completion: The individual receives an official vocational diploma (Gesellenbrief) and can work in that field in Germany.

Application Requirements

  • You must be a vocational school graduate and at least 18 years old.
  • Educational level: At least a vocational school graduate or a master’s degree student or graduate.
  • Language: At least B2 level German language skills, certified by TELC, Goethe, or ÖSD certificates.
