In Germany, working to promote human rights is one of the duties of the state. The government reports on its work every two years.

Berlin (d.de) – The Federal Government has presented its biennial report on human rights policy. The 16th Human Rights Report describes the human rights situation in selected countries and the work on human rights and projects in Germany.

The section titled “Human Rights in Foreign and Development Policy” highlights the Federal Government’s work on various human rights issues based on its values-driven, human rights-focused foreign and development policy in international human rights forums. This report highlights Germany’s national and international activities for gender equality and equal treatment of girls, women, and marginalized groups, as well as the implementation and impact of feminist foreign policy guidelines. It also focuses on the fight against impunity for human rights violations and international crimes, as well as the fight against racism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, antiziganism, and other forms of group hostility.

The report was compiled under the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the participation of ministers and members of the Federal Government’s commissions.
